Sunset in Washington

Posted by: maxym @ 7:23 pm

This was taken on the way back somewhere in Washington state not far from Canadian border. The colors were amazing but fading quickly. I had to quickly find place to pull off of the highway and I did not have time to set up my tripod so had to improvise bracing myself against the car. This is HDR made from three shots and then heavily post porcessed in CS5 to remove electrical transmission lines (I love new content aware fill in CS5!).

If you are thinking whether you should stop and take a photograp – stop and take it!

Back from the North

Posted by: maxym @ 8:20 pm

We back from two week long trip to the north. Started in Crater Lake NP, Oregon on the way to Glacier NP in Montana and then drove further north to Banff NP in Alberta, Canada then Glacier NP (in Canada this time) and stopped in North Cascade NP, Washington in USA. It was eventfull trip trip full of rain, wildlife and adventure. I took many pictures and they now are waiting to be processed, keep an eye on my Flickr Feed.

Highlights of the trips:

  • It rains a lot in nothern regions in June
  • Road contruction is national passtime, we drove trough construction zones more times then I can count in both USA and Canada
  • It reminded me of Ireland because it was raining much
  • Parks in Canada are more expensive then we were anticipating
  • Wildlife, especially bears are far more prominent part of the life up there
  • Did I mention that it rains a lot there in June?

more to come…

What really motivates us

Posted by: maxym @ 11:37 am

Here is very well done video about a theory what’s really behind motivation. It does have certain merit and when I think of it fits my experience both personal and what I observe around. I wonder if companies take such studies into account when developing employee benefits and compensation programs.
