Reflecting Clouds

This past Saturday we had a break in storm that was hammering California for the last week. Using this opportunity I rushed to Yosemite hoping for good photo opportunities and pristine snow.

On the way to the valley we saw group of asian guys in SUV stuck on steep hill unable to make it up hill even though their car 4WD (presumably) the tires they had were regular low grip road tires and not M+S.

I parked off payment to take a picture and that was a mistake because I couldn’t get my car back to the road – it was stuck in snow :/ I had to take the shovel and dig trenches all the way to the ground for tires to grip on, and I did had the chains on! Later we saw couple of young guys made same mistake and but they din’t have shovel so they were digging their car out using skateboards.

Evening was marvelous and photographers were all over the place. We stayed in the park pretty late and got to our overnight sleepover destination at Bass Lake around 9pm. Next day it was starting to rain again but we decided to go back to the park anyway. However it turns out that we lost one of the chains I have no idea where or when, I didn’t even know that you can loose chains till that day. So that was it for the weekend, we turned around and drove home. There are plans to come back next weekend!
