This shot was taken from the bridge over Merced river. Fairluy popular place for sunset in Yosemite. Despite cold evening right after long storm there were many photographers, I barely found spot for my tripod. As time went on people started leaving and eventually there were only few of us left. I didn;t stay to wait for the moon which supposedly was rising over the Half Dome because we had to drive home that night but couple of guys did stayed.
That time I really wasn’t prepared for night photogrpahy in the winter’s valley but this is something to consider for future.

Another night shot in Valley of Fire Nevada state park. This one has even longer exposure showing far more stars and some light from distant Las Vegas. Remote flash again was used to illuminate rock formations in foreground and synced with rear curtain. I made those shots this January, cold air in winter makes sky much clearer comparing to warmer times of year.

Valley of Fire is Nevada state park located about 50 miles from Las Vegas. We usually stop there for a break when driving to Utah.
