I was watching a TED talk last night about the guy who built a crow feeder that gradually taught crows to bring coins in exchange for nuts! There is a lot of change lost every year and crow have sharp eyes, they are also fairly intelligent. Few such feeders placed in a busy city could generate some income… may be…
But jokes aside, author is thinking about teaching crows to clean the mess after public events and stadiums. With the same principle – they bring plastic, cups, bottles etc and get some food in return. Of course that would require more sophisticated machine but the idea is interesting and may be worth pursuing.

Went to yosemite recently again, this time mostly to show the valley to a friend. It’s still very crowded despite the soaring gas prices. Park officials still play they favorite game rearranging traffic flows and closing roads here and there to keep people guessing about how to get around.
We hiked up to the Emerald lake this time and then in the evening went to Glacier point which was recently open. Beautiful view from up there, Nevada falls pouring mighty down, if we make it again to Yosemite this spring we should hike to them. We stayed on Glacier point till sunset drinking hot tea and watching Half Dome sinking in dusk. Then drove back getting home around 2am as usual for trips like that.
